Top Methods to Level Your Templar

If you don't know if you are playing your character correctly, the signs you need to look for are excessive deaths, taking a long time to kill a mob, a lot of downtime. A Templar can get out of most fights undamaged. So if you get out of fights with normal mobs with half HP, then you need to read this.

Aion Templar Leveling Guide - Class Role

The Templar is the tanking class of Aion and it DOES NOT deal damage. If you want a plate wearing DPS class, get a Gladiator. This class can absorb large amounts of damage by using his shield or spells. The class relies on Sword and Board, or Sword and Shield. It can wield two weapons at the same time or a two-handed weapon. But that takes away the tanking capabilities and it still wont deal enough damage.

Aion Templar Leveling Guide - Skill Rotation For Solo Play

The next step is to know how to fight to be effective, and since when you will most likely solo a lot, here is a skill rotation you can use to maximize XP gain.

1. Pull with Provoke or body pull, which ever you want.

2. Weakening Severe Blow - this is an armor debuff skill that allows the following hits to deal more damage.

3. Ferocious Strike - Damage dealing opening attack.

4. Rage - increases over attack power and also creates a protective shield for yourself while dealing damage.

5. Provoking Severe Blow - damage.

6. Shining Slash - damage.

7. Shield Defense - Increases block chance and your chances of using shield counter abilities.

8. Shield Counter - stuns the target and allows the restart of the rotation which deals more damage.

This rotation is for the 19-22 levels, subtract or add skills depending on your level. Allow one or two hits in between the skills so that the cooldowns refresh properly.

By using this rotation you will lose about 10% hp each fight. Remember to stack up on blocking and HP bonuses.
